IBS Center for Nanomedicine (IBS CNM, PI: Jinwoo Cheon) and the Shapiro Lab at Caltech (PI: Mikhail Shapiro) are seeking for motivated and innovation driven candidates for Caltech-IBS Global Pioneer Fellowship (GPF). The fellow will engage in highly multidisciplinary studies of magnetic nanoparticles, nanomaterials chemistry, biomolecular engineering, and biophysics to develop novel technologies to image and control biological function deep inside the body non-invasively. The awardee will join a research team of Prof. Mikhail Shapiro at Caltech and IBS, and spend time in residence at both institutions. Candidates with hand-on laboratory experiences in synthetic biology and in vivo bio-imaging are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate should possess excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills required to work in a highly interactive and collaborative research environment with scientists of different disciplines.
A PhD holder or PhD candidate in Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or related fields is a suitable applicant for the fellowship. GPF is available for immediate occupancy, and offered a term of maximum three years. The selected fellow will receive a stipend of 60M KRW (approx. 55,000USD) and travel support (up to 6,000USD) per year.
