m-Torquer: Magnetic Neuromodulation Could Make Us Real-Life ‘Magnetos’
Yonsei University Research Archive
|
The group led by Jinwoo Cheon, has, after meticulous research, devised m-Torquer – a nanocompass that functions as a magnetoreceptor. m-Torquer is a magnetic toolkit that can be used for neuromodulation in living animals, up to a milestone distance of 70cm. Cheon believes that it’ll revolutionize medicine and biological research. Their methods have been described in a study published in Nature Materials in July 2021.

Development of Superconducting High Gradient Magnetic Separation System for Medical Protein Separation
|
We have developed a high gradient magnetic separation system for medical proteins using affinity magnetic nanobeads. Our system shows very high separation efficiency and can achieve low cost owing to its large production rate compared with conventional systems. The system consists of a 3T superconducting magnet cooled by a cryocooler, a filter made of fine magnetic metal fibers of about 30 μm in diameter with demagnetization circuit and liquid circulation pump for the solvent containing the medical proteins.

Immune system-stimulating nanoparticle could lead to more powerful vaccines
|
Researchers from MIT have now designed a new nanoparticle adjuvant that may be more potent than others now in use. Studies in mice showed that it significantly improved antibody production following vaccination against HIV, diphtheria, and influenza.
