IBS CNM News

Wearable Sensors with Wide-Ranging Strain Sensitivity
Researchers draw inspiration from snake skin in sensor’s structural design. The results of the experiments showed that the TIBI sensor yielded clearly defined signals with a sensitivity range of two orders of magnitude. The signals accurately reflected the degrees and angles of the corresponding movements that were detected. In addition, the sensor demonstrated excellent conductivity, durability, and reproducibility.

Magnetic nanoparticles could enhance the efficacy of cancer immunotherapy
Boosting the function of natural killer cells with magnetic nanoparticles could make cancer immunotherapy more efficient, according to a Northwestern Medicine study published in ACS Nano. This method could unlock the potential to use natural killer (NK) cells on a variety of solid tumors, according to Dong-Hyun Kim, Ph.D., associate professor of Radiology in the Division of Basic and Translational Radiology Research and senior author of the study.
